THE SOUND MAN
FOR DALE
The sound man has gone home my friends,
The sound man has gone home,
He's wound his cables, and packed his gear,
The power is down and the stage is clear,
A few vibrations still linger hear,
The sound. man has gone home.
The banjo man's gone home my friends,
The banjo man's gone home.
He has lifted his instrument off his knee,
Taken his chair from beneath the tree,
His notes still ring in infinity,
The banjo man's gone home.
My teacher has gone home my friends,
My teacher has gone home.
I remember the stories and songs and lore,
From sailing ships to the civil war,
The words to a hundred songs and more,
My teacher has gone home.

Dash Moore 1926 - 1/24/2007

Dash Moore passed on Jan 24, in St Augustine, at age 71.
Many of the old timers in FOFF will remember Dash, a street musician on St George St and attendee of many folk festivals around the state. Dash was known to be a musical associate of
Will McLean and wrote many Florida folk songs. He traveled throughout Florida singing his songs for people at festivals and around the campfires.
Dash was born in Frog Pond, Alabama, the son of Robert and Bessie Moore. A true Florida Folk Icon, Dash entertained locals
and tourists alike in the streets of historic Saint Augustine for nearly 40 years.
William "Bill" Bullard 12/22/48 - 3/8/07
Bill Bullard was one of the Wednesday Night Jammers in Sarasota. He will be deeply missed.
Bill was a gentle, kind spirit who brought laughter and lovely music and support to all who knew him. He faced his inevitable death from liver failure with grace.
From Ishmael: I was fortunate to spend a couple of hours with him on a Saturday two weeks before he passed away. We talked about friendship and living and dying and I shared some songs with him as he had with Brent earlier that same day.
